Just in case anyone fancied submitting their project for an IMS Learning Impact award.  The blurb says that:

The Learning Impact Awards (LIAs) are designed to recognize the most impactful use of technology worldwide in support of learning. This unique program, now in its fifth year, evaluates the use of technology in context to improve educational access, affordability, and quality.

You don't actually have to be using an IMS spec to apply, I think!

IMS Global Learning Consortium is holding a special UK regional competition for the 2012 IMS Global Learning Impact Awards (LIA). You may submit a nomination for the regional competition free of charge at: http://www.imsglobal.org/learningimpact2012/regional2012li.html  The deadline to enter is 5 February.

Finalists will be notified by 10 February and will be required to present their nomination for judging during the showcase on Tuesday, 21 February at 5pm as part of the IMS Quarterly Meetings<http://www.imsglobal.org/feb2012nottingham.cfm> at the National College for School Leadership in Nottingham, UK.  The top three winners will be automatically entered into the global LIA competition which will take place at the Learning Impact 2012 Conference in Toronto, Canada, 14-17 May 2012.

IMS Global Learning Consortium Quarterly Meetings & Workshop

 Join us for the IMS Quarterly Meetings in Nottingham, UK at the National College for School Leadership the 20-21 February.  We will hold several meetings including a forum on QTI Conformance and an exclusive all day workshop that will highlight many of the IMS standards, including Common Cartridge, Learning Tools Interoperability, Question and Test Interoperability and Accessible Portable Item Profile, Learning Information Services and Common File Format/ Interactive WhiteBoard. * All meetings open to the public, but you must register online at: http://www.imsglobal.org/feb2012nottingham.cfm

10:00   New Developments in Common Cartridge
Find out who is using IMS Common Cartridge, how it is being implemented and learn about its use in K-20 evironments. We will discuss how Common Cartridge has evolved and what is on the roadmap for the future. We will also detail tools for developing Common Cartridge and how to ensure conformance.

11:00   Question & Test Interoperability
Learn about the various ways QTI is being used across the world.
11:30   Accessible Portable Item Profile
What is APIP, how is it being used and how does APIP differ from Question and Test Interoperability? In addition, you will find out about the many projects utilizing APIP.

1:30    IMS Learning Tools Interoperability with Outcomes
Exciting things are happening with Learning Tools Interoperability. Look for details on who is implementing the specification and the types of tools and rich interactions enabled by LTI.
2:30    Interactive WhiteBoard/Common File Format
Learn about IWB/CFF and its use for sharing compatible whiteboard data. We will detail who is involved and the plan for its future.

4:00    Learning Information Services
We'll explore how LIS is being used by major providers and how it is impacting their success.
