Dear MeCCSA members,
At the Annual MeCCSA Conference there was much discussion about the passing of Stuart Hood - according to his obituary: "the maverick BBC TV executive who escaped into academia". Given his contributions to the field, many felt that MeCCSA ought to do something by way of commemorating his life.
MeCCSA invites members who wishes to share their own experiences of Stuart Hood to do so on our website. Peter Lewis has kindly provided a starting point and we invite everyone who wishes to add their own contributions to do so via the comments field of Peter's article:

We also invite suggestions for a memorial or way of commemorating him (e.g. a scholarship, conference or similar in his name). Feel free to use this list to discuss suggestions or post these on the website too.
Brian Winston's obituary of Stuart Hood was published in the Guardian, 22 December 2011:

All the best,
Einar
