Hi Naomi

Hope you are well. I really enjoyed that one week in London. Hope you have had lots of applicants. Just to check if the essay and 2 x lesson plans is due tomorrow? If it is, may I ask for an extention until after the half term please?

I started it over Christmas but I haven't had chance to do more because of work load since January, as well as waiting to hear from you about three presentation that can't be opened.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Many thanks
Shawee

Essential teacher training by experienced practitioners

Dear colleague

SSAT (The Schools Network) Confucius Institute has designed a training course for speakers of Chinese who are interested in learning how to teach Chinese to school-age students or improve their existing teaching skills.

Combining the expertise of experienced teacher trainers and academics from renowned UK universities with the practical classroom experience of SSAT (The Schools Network) Confucius Institute and Confucius Classrooms, the course will provide participants with guidance on all aspects of teaching Chinese as a foreign language in schools in England.

Course content
The course will consist of a week-long, face-to-face training course in London, covering a total of 30 hours of tuition. These 30 hours will comprise roughly 80% practical content and 20% academic content and theory. At the end of the course, participants will be assessed by completing written assignments. For more information about subjects covered, please download the course guide<http://www.theschoolsnetwork.org.uk/chinese>.

This is a recognised Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) training course. Those who complete the programme successfully will be awarded a certificate by The Schools Network.

Cost
As Hanban have generously agreed to subsidise places on this course, fees will be charged at £350 per participant.

If you are currently in teacher training (PGCE or GTP), you may also be eligible for a training bursary – please see the course guide or contact Naomi Li at SSAT (The Schools Network) Confucius Institute at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> for more information.
