Dear colleagues
Happy New Year!
Thanks for your interest in the China Camp trip for students and teachers.
Following the successful organisation of the China Summer/Autumn camps since 2007, SSAT (The Schools Network) Confucius Institute is going to again partner with Hanban (The Office of Chinese Language Council International) to run a 2012 Autumn Camp for secondary students and teachers in England.
Due to the London Olympics and the expensive airfare in the Summer, we decided that it would be beneficial to organise a two-week study visit to China during the third and fourth weeks of October. These trips are likely to take place in the ranges of 13th-26th, 14th -27th and 15th-28th October (subject to minor changes). As Chinese students will be still studying on their campus, we hope that the British students will be able to work on some projects with the Chinese schools and students whilst on the visit.
The programme includes the following:
¡¤ around 20 hours of Chinese learning
¡¤ traditional Chinese cultural activities
¡¤ visits to local historical and cultural places of interest
¡¤ activities with local Chinese students
¡¤ where possible and with the agreement of participating schools and Chinese families, home visits will be organised with host provinces
We are still working on the final details such as cost, flight, and applicant criteria and we hope to open the application process in late February if not earlier.

Best wishes for the year of the Dragon.
Kind regards
