Metadata has become a key part of library and information work. If you are an LIS professional that needs to understand metadata or who wants to get to grips with a new metadata role, this one-day course is designed for you. The course provides an introduction to metadata concepts, its application to information work and its effect on retrieval. It introduces the mean metadata standards and provides a grounding for more specialist work.
The course tutor, David Haynes, is author of “Metadata for Information Management and Retrieval” published by Facet Publications. He is an experienced consultant and researcher and teaches metadata and taxonomy on the postgraduate programmes at CAIS, University of Dundee, and the Department of Information Science at City University London.
Next course will be on 13th March at CILIP, in Central London. To qualify for the early-bird rate, book now at: http://aspire2im1.eventbrite.co.uk
