Triad Resourcing’s well known client are urgently seeking the services of a GIS Officer to join their team for 9 months. Your duties will be to assist the GIS Manager to direct, advise, co-ordinate and implement the work of the GIS Team and to provide all associated services, programmes and resources.
Key Roles
Provide the client with timely, cost effective GI related solutions using a variety of software applications, including GIS, Database Management Systems, and Development tools
Design and develop GI systems, architectures and infrastructures (including web based applications) to support the client in delivering its goals in accordance with Unit and Corporate strategies
Provide technical support to all users of the Corporate GIS system via a helpdesk facility for GI related enquiries and support calls, including the direct resolution of the call either on site, or over the telephone
Provide a role in support of GIS applications, including bespoke developments, data capture, production of maps, statistical information and development of records
Key Skills & Abilities
The ability to work on projects without close supervision
The ability to be proactive, self-motivated, with commitment and enthusiasm to achieve results
A commitment to achieving high quality outputs
Key Special Knowledge
GIS Related Degree or equivalent qualification.
In depth knowledge of GIS and Geo-Information Management in practical use
Familiarity with leading GIS software packages and with data capture/editing techniques
Practical experience in developing GIS and spatial applications, including web based
Evidence of handling large quantities of spatial data (both raster and vector), including conversion to a number of formats including databases where appropriate.
Familiarity with Ordnance Survey digital and conventional mapping products.
Experience of MS SQL Server and ArcSDE
