The Company
Our client is a leading global reinsurance organisation that has an outstanding reputation within the industry.
The Role
• Main role: development of seismic catastrophe models for reinsurance purposes
• Complete involvement in developing catastrophe models for Reinsurance purposes
• To participate actively in the development of the probabilistic seismic hazard models. this encompasses processing, analysing and preparing source and hazard data, i.e. candidate needs to be technical
• To manage entire model development projects, i.e. candidate needs to have managerial skills
• To work with damage data or vulnerability methodology to allocate to an asset the likelihood of being affected by an earthquake
• To coordinate cooperation with external partners, this may need travelling abroad
• To communicate and present intermediate and final results to other departments such as cat management team, brokers etc., candidate needs to have excellent communication skills
• To deliver external presentation to clients, at conferences, etc.
• To bring innovation while understanding the requirements/limitations of the practices of the team
• To be part of the if development team and be able to coordinate tasks with other members
• To collaborate with other team members from different offices worldwide
The Candidate
You must:-
• Have knowledge of the field of (probabilistic) seismic hazard analysis and/or structural analysis. (Arc GIS)
• Have a degree in seismic engineering, structural engineering, statistics or maths or comparable work experience.
• Have knowledge of coding language, like python, MATLAB, R, SQL.
Desirable
• Have excellent communication skills.
• Be extremely innovative, enthusiastic and hard working.
• Be able to explain complicated things in a simple manner (very often needed when highly technical presentations are carried out).
• Have strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
• Have very good presentational skills.
