Call for papers: Royal Geographical Society-Institute of British Geographers July 2012, Edinburgh
Customer
Recently a number of A4 posters have appeared on the notice boards found along the corridors of our department. They read simply ‘Customer’ (crossed out). As people involved in teaching we took these posters as both an articulation of something fundamental to our relationship with our students and of the pressing need for conversations about teaching and learning in post-2012 Higher Education. It is through reflecting on our experiences, thinking out loud about our understandings, and discussing strategies we stand a chance of securing meaningful education. To this end we invite papers from both teaching and research rich institutions which concern the ways in which teaching practice may act in response to this sea change, together with the philosophical, political and empirical responses to our anonymous provocateur’s call to attention.
If you are interested in giving a 20 minute paper, performance or intervention during this Higher Education Research Group (HERG) sponsored session please get in touch on [log in to unmask] We welcome contributions from graduates, early career professionals and experienced professionals from either in or outside of the academy. Thank you.
The deadline for abstracts will be Wednesday 22nd February
