*Call for Workshop Proposals*

The ICCBR-12 Program Committee invites proposals for full day or half
day workshops for the Workshop Program of the 20th International
Conference on Case-Based Reasoning.

ICCBR-12 workshops will provide an informal setting in which
participants will have the opportunity to meet and discuss topics with a
selected CBR focus in an environment that encourages the exchange of ideas.

The format of each workshop will be determined by each workshop
organizing committee. To stimulate interaction and a broad exchange of
ideas, ample time should be allotted in each workshop for general
discussion.

*Workshop Proposal Content*

Proposals should be from two to four pages in length and contain the
following information:

- Proposed title of the workshop.

- A brief technical description of the workshop, specifying the workshop
goals and the technical issues that will be its focus.

- A brief discussion of why the workshop is of interest.

- A preliminary workshop agenda and schedule for the workshop. This
should include a brief description of how the organizers intend to
conduct the workshop (e.g., paper presentations, invited talks, panel
discussions, system demonstrations, contests, or other types of
communication).

- A list of potential participants or groups. If similar workshops were
held in the past, include information on received submissions and
attendance.

- The intended means of advertising the workshop.

- Contact information, including the names, postal addresses, phone
numbers and email addresses of the proposed workshop organizing
committee, identifying the main point of contact. This committee should
consist of three or four people knowledgeable in the technical issues to
be addressed. Ideally, these people should not be from the same institution.

- An indication as to whether the workshop should be considered for a
half day or full day meeting.

- A draft call for papers.

*Proposal Submission*

Workshop proposals, in pdf format, should be sent to [log in to unmask]
by Wednesday, February 15, 2012.

Organizers will be notified of the committee's decision by February 29,
2012.

Inquiries concerning workshop submissions should be sent to the Workshop
Coordinators:

Juan A. Recio-García, Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain
[log in to unmask]

Luc Lamontage Université Laval Québec, Canada
[log in to unmask]

*Workshop Organization*

Each workshop organizing committee will be responsible for:

- Producing a Call for Participation for their workshop. This call will
be posted on the ICCBR-12 website. It should clarify the process by
which the organizing committee will review and select the papers and
presentations. In addition, the submission procedure, format and dates
should be included and be in accordance with the ICCBR-12 required
submission procedure and dates.

- Reviewing and selecting presentations and papers.

- Providing the workshop selected papers in camera ready format to the
Workshop Coordinator no later than Friday, July 27, 2012. The ICCBR-12
Program Committee will provide a meeting place for the
workshop and arrange for the production of the workshop proceedings.
Workshop papers should be submitted in Springer LNCS format, which is
the format required for the final camera ready copy, with a maximum of
10 pages. Authors' instructions along with LaTeX and Word macro files
are available at Springer's Information for LNCS Authors page,
http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-7-72376-0

ICCBR-12 reserves the right to cancel any workshop if deadlines are
missed, if too few submissions are received, or if too few attendees
register for the workshop to support the costs of holding it. In
special cases, the ICCBR-12 Program Committee may suggest the
consolidation of workshops to prevent the need for cancellation.

All workshop participants must register for the conference, and
workshops must be open to all registered participants of ICCBR-12.

*Important Dates for Workshops*

15 February 2012 Deadline for workshop proposal submission
29 February 2012 Notification of acceptance of workshop proposals
27 July 2012 Final camera ready copies of workshop papers to
be received by Workshop Coordinators
3 September 2012 Workshops held at ICCBR-12 in Lyon, France
