Dear all - plesae see the email below from Phil Studds. I have replaced the image with a tag as I have no wish to propagate visual triggers of dangerous practice.
I should add that the image in no way negates the interesting and long standing research in measurement (perhaps in these post Greenleaves III we should call it epistemic) uncertainty that Mike Ramsey and his group have been carrying out.
thanks
Paul

Subject: URGENT - entry into trial pits
Hi Paul
I just noticed this on JISCMAIL – see below
Would you mind sending my email to JISCMAIL as a reply because I just tried to email to JISCMAIL and my message was rejected.
I thought that Ramboll had subscribed to JISCMAIL so I am just getting one of my colleagues to check.
Dear sir
I am concerned to note from the Ramsey web site the following photo.
I have spent all of my working life stressing that site operatives never enter a trial pit.
I am surprised no one else on JISCMAIL has commented.
