It does reappear fine.
The problem occurs when I try to go to a sub-menu, e.g. 'Simple' within the Type Synonym one. I can easily click on Simple, and get that menu to show up. But often as soon as I move the mouse over to e.g. the CH type, the whole drop-down disappears. If I double click the whole thing starts over.

Yep, same issue there. It is specifically the behavior of the drop-downs, and not the dialog/window itself. They seem too prone/quick to disappear… Ideally I would not expect them to disappear when just moving the mouse without clicking.
I think it is quite likely Mac-specific, but it seems to me that various people must be using a similar config without such trouble..
