Thank you to everyone who replied to this enquiry. The overwhelming response was that CALM is the main system for recording accessions information. Of the 18 responses, 17 use CALM, ADlib, or MS Access, etc. and one only uses a paper register. Only four do not print any kind of accessions information from their electronic system (other than depositor receipts), although most of the institutions printing anything out are not doing this to create a hard copy accessions register. None of the institutions who use CALM only regretted not keeping a hard copy register.
Many thanks, best wishes for the weekend!
Becky

Subject: Accession Register
Dear all,
We are coming to the end of our current hard copy accession register, and wondered what other people were doing to record incoming accessions. Currently everything goes in our hard copy register, and then into CALM as well. Does anybody just use CALM, and if so, do you print from here to obtain a hard copy register? On the other hand, is there anyone who doesn't use CALM, or other collections management software for this purpose and just relies on a hard copy?
Many thanks in anticipation,
Becky
