Dear Colleagues,
I was wondering what general statistical trends have been noticed for the past four or five years, i.e. whether numbers are rising or falling for visitors, remote enquiries, documents issued, etc. Are there underlying trends affecting all local and national archives, and if so why? I'm interested to see if (a) more people are visiting because family (and local) history is increasingly popular, or (b) more people are doing family (and local) history online at home, again because it is increasingly popular. Or is no-one spending any money on anything beause of the Recession, higher petrol prices, etc.?
Best wishes,
Will Meredith
