Funding Day for Career Young Medical/Bio-Statisticians
Thursday 23rd February 2012 from 10am-4.30pm at the Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol Street, EC1Y 8LX
This funding event is intended for those who are at the start of their statistical career or those studying statistics at postgraduate level who are interested in applying for a fellowship. The day will include: a plenary talk from Prof Deborah Ashby (Chair in Medical Statistics and Clinical Trials at Imperial College) on what a fellowship can do for your career; insights from the Medical Research Council (MRC) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funding bodies on their available funding schemes; advice from reviewers on what makes a good application; and a chance to hear from a number of current fellows on their experiences.
