My name is Andrei, and I am the director of ICDS Arch - a limited company which I started after I undertook 3 years of research with UCA (KIAD).
I had developed a product called OpenLab which aims to engage with students and young professionals from architecture and web design to re-negociate the boundaries of architecture out of the school programme. The main research is practice, and more practice.
Think architecture as a ‘system of thinking’ where new technological paradigms are tested and yet developed into creative and unique solutions which could be used in contemporary architecture / construction / web. Our goal is to inhabit interior spaces with ‘biomimicry’ and articulate the connections/joints using low-tech solutions. What we hope to achieve is a transparency of spaces.
I was deeply inspired by the Space Syntax developed by the UCL, but my target is social communities - drawn down to private proprieties. What I want to achieve is lower emissions, less material usage and increased space efficiency.
I hope I achieved this with the BlobHouse model, which could be applied to any household and help save money. I tested it on a bigger model such as Centre Point and again it proved successful. http://www.icdsarch.com/openlab/category/research-development
I would like to know if would be possible to get in contact with this list.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Kindest regards,
Andrei Toma
