> Haha.
I did the MPP at the Harvard Kennedy School (HKS..it was the KSG in my
time, 1977-79).
I had gone straight from my undergraduate degree at Oxford. The word on
the street, in those distant pre-Thatcherite times in the UK, was: at
Oxford, you pretended you were out drinking all day but secretly slipped
home to do some work; whereas at Harvard you pretended you were working
all day and night, but secretly slipped out under cover of dark for a
beer.
Just shows the perils of comparative work.....it may have been the
undergraduate/post-graduate difference, rather than the Oxford/Harvard
(UK/East Coast Ivy League USA) difference...
Or it may have been the difference between a state-paid education and a
big-loan-financed education.....
Anyway, it's different now.....unless you're in the Bullingdon Club....or
Dubya's frat?
as ever Calum
"You can always tell a Harvard man when you see him, but you can't tell
> him much."
