Hi colleagues;
I support Martin Wood as a member of Aacorn... but please keep Deleuze away from the Pennines. Let not the cultural values of Tim Taylor's Landlord and Blue Wensleydale Cheese be tainted with these Continental influences.
Each to his own as the shepherd said(Are yer shearing?)
Best
David

Subject: Proposing Martin Wood as a new AACORN member
> Dear All
>
> Occasionally some things get overlooked and the fact that Martin Wood
> hasn't been proposed as a member yet is probably because those of us who
> should have proposed him thought he was! Martin is Professor in the School
> of Management and Director of the Creative Arts Management Research cluster
> in the Centre for Sustainable Organisations and Work at RMIT University
> Melbourne http://rmit.biz/browse;ID=dnkbkgmd9vvhz, his previous posts
> including Warwick, Exeter and York. Many of you will know Martin's work
> from his AMJ Best Paper Award on the non-spread of innovation in 2005
> http://mams.rmit.edu.au/3b1o179vaipf.pdf, but Martin is also an active
> film-maker who with AACORN member Sally Brown co-wrote and co-directed *Lines
> of Flight *the now multi-award winning short film (including the *Jury
> Prize* <http://mams.rmit.edu.au/5n7mz69vaipf.pdf> at the *28**th UNNIM
> Mountain Film Festival,* Torelló, Spain, 2010 *and **Best Film on Mountain
> Culture* <http://mams.rmit.edu.au/5n7mz69vaipf.pdf> at the *13th Vancouver
> International Mountain Film Festival,* Canada, 2010, and nominations
> for Best International Short Film at the *Reel Earth Environmental Film
> Festival* in New Zealand and finalist for Best Film on Mountain Culture at
> the *Banff Mountain Film Festival* *.* The film* *was part ethnography of
> solo climbing, part an aesthetic geography of the Pennine Hills in the
> North of England, part Deleuzian philosophy, and part socio-historical
> critique of working-class oppression and resistance. Furthermore, Martin
> and Sal broke new ground in getting a paper about the film, its theory and
> methods into a rated refereed journal, *Organization [18/4]* which also has
> links to a lower-quality version of the film. Martin has also published
> extensively in high quality outlets on leadership, knowledge, and
> philosophy. Martin is actively working with colleagues to host the *Art of
> Management Conference* at Melbourne in 2014. His contact is
