I think that there are some interesting things to take note of here, not least of which is the ability to get a Certificate of Completion for online coursework/ learning from MIT.
I wonder if this will cost anything? And how will a Certificate of Completion relate to MIT formal accreditation? Will such Certificates count towards admission to formally accredited courses at MIT and elsewhere? How will employers react to MIT Certificates of Completion? And what about other HEIs?
Like Pat says its a shame others have not publicised themselves as well as MIT does, but as Andy points out they have had more money than anywhere else.
As far as corporate viewed on the resource data is concerned - I will be keeping an eye on that in relation to the exploration of alternative publishing business models within our publishOER project…. It will be interesting to compare it to how the dynamic learning maps team are integrating resources into the curriculum and the personalised view users can get of it.
I wonder what kind of pedagogical models MITx is being built around?
