Hi all,
I am wondering that as May 2012 is not too far around the corner and the
UK will start enforcing the amended Privacy and Electronic
Communications Regulations (PECR) and Data Protection Act, otherwise
known as the 'Cookie Law', what are you all doing about it? Have any of
you started to make changes to your websites and mobile technology to
get consent from users/visitors to allow for cookies and tracking
scripts for web analytics?
I know this came up in the list briefly in the past, but I don't
remember seeing any suggestions or any call for actions. At the end of
the day, the liability is with us as organisations who have cookies or
other tracking scripts online, rather than web browsers (who are mostly
American based and will most likely stick to the American version of the
law that is very different to the European), or search engines such as
Google.
Would love to hear what solutions people are coming up with.

Thanks.
