The steering group for sustainability here at KU has decided to do a mock REFwork case for the opening of the UNCSD, which is wonderful.
I wonder whether we can spread this to all HE ? And join them together
The UNCSD home page has a good thing which I have put on my facebook wall, which gives a template for the narrative, recognising the role of cities, and of green and smart transport, so that is thirty years of argument coming to nest.
During the IFLA in Glasgow before Johannesburg, I tried to get loads of libraries including the President of IFLA, who spoke on a platform with me, to hold exhibitions around Rio + 10; now it is Rio + 20, and the UNFCCC has perhaps come up with something, there might be a bit more movement?
The big argument at UNFCCC I think is between the helicopters and blue flashing lights, of some of the participants, and the walking and public transport of some of the others. The oligopoly in other words has become so distant, that the poor have to demonstrate how to manage.
That means the middle has to decide.
