Dear Peter,
For general use databases, this works well for us. This does not work as well for very subject specific resources which do not have broad use across campus. For this reason, we are often priced out of niche databases that we would otherwise attempt to support for some departments.
Best,
Julie

Subject: [lis-e-resources] Pricing based on student population?
Hello all,
Could I use this message-board to gather feedback about prices of databases to academic libraries based solely on student numbers.
Is it a good idea? What are your views on the pros and cons of this method.
Best regards
