I know that a couple of Southampton people have done it with EPrints
related projects (DepositMO being a brilliant example!)
I've spoken to them about this (as it would be very useful functionality
to have in the OA-RJ broker service), however there is no stable code
available as yet.
.... but yes - there is definitely prototype code out there to do
metadata extraction, and deposit into repositories.
