You could start by emailing James Nott at the University of St Andrews. He should be able to help you.
Best wishes,

Subject: [BBC-HISTORY] research on BBC history
Dear Sir or Madam,
I got your mail adress from Mr. Simon Rooks from the BBCs sound archive.
I am a student of the University Bremen in Germany and currently
writing on my bachelor thesis about the establishment of pop-music in
the UK. I am desperatly searching for informations from a reliable
source about the BBCs programme between 1960 and 1970. I would be very
grateful, if you could help me with an overview, programme-booklets,
other sources of any kind or a connection with other experts.
Many Thanks.
Yours faithfully,
Christoph Roggatz
