<<As far as I can tell this is the same set of records that I currently
access through an institutional sub via Senate House Library as Gale's 18th
and 19th century newspapers.
Are Gale and Brightsolid the same thing now? I am confused!>>
No - they aren't the same thing, and there are many newspapers with back
copies now appearing online for the first time. But I am curious to know
why they opted to have some overlaps.
Brightsolid are linked to FindMyPast (formerly known as 1837online), who are
one of a number of companies providing subscription access to different
genealogical databases. Other such companies include Ancestry; The
Genealogist and Roots UK (both operated by S&N Genealogy Supplies); Genes
Reunited & 1901 Census online; Origins, and ScotlandsPeople.
