The appointees could be currently at the Postdoctorate/Lecturer/Senior

academic institution or industrial organisation.
Applicants will possess a doctorate in Geology or a related discipline, and
substantial post-doctoral experience from a British University or its equivalent in
another country, and a number of publications in refereed journals.
For appointment to Senior Lecturer, candidates must have a strong research record in
Geology or a closely related discipline. In addition, candidates will be expected to

and undergraduate teaching across a range of subjects within (or close to) the
field of Geology, together with a track record of successful postgraduate student
supervision and postdoctoral
mentoring.
For appointment to the position of Chair, in addition to the above requirements
candidates will be expected to have international leading research record and
strong leadership qualities in areas which enhance and extend those of the Group.
Successful candidates will be expected to perform independent research, to
contribute to the teaching of the undergraduate courses and administrative
aspects of the Department.
