Hi Richard,
The problem clicking on attempts was happening in the standard 'native' mode in IE9, i.e. not compatibility mode. Yes, we've also noticed a number of display issues with IE9, plus the one you described in the Grade Centre when hoving over a cell - very annoying!
I'm sure Garry won't mind my sharing his excellent solution here; this is his suggestion:
1: Open IIS manager.
2: Click on the BBLEARN website
3: Dbl Click 'HTTP Response Headers'
4: Under Actions Click 'Add
5: In Name type: X-UA-Compatible
6: In Value type: IE=EmulateIE8
I've applied this to our SP7 HF1 test system, and our live system which is still on SP6, and it appears to have solved all of these IE9 display issues - a real step forward for us, so many thanks to Garry. Previously I'd been switching between standards mode and compatibility mode depending what I was doing in Blackboard. I'd be interested to know if this solves the problem for you too as some of the display issues have been happening sporadically so it's difficult to confirm 100% that everything has been fixed.
Cheers,
Chris
