There may be a 32-bit versus 64-bit issue with the binary grfont.dat.
In the Starlink build the file will have the correct precision.
Robert's problem suggests that this may not be the case for the distro's
PGPLOT package. The default pre-compiled grfont.dat is 32-bit.
It's surprising that some Linux distros offer PGPLOT rather than
favouring PLplot with its extra facilities and ongoing support.
