Richard, Jane, Kai, Michael,
How would Wednesday or Friday, 4 or 6 January, at 9:00 or 10:00 EST work for
all of you to meet on Skype and chat about a strategy for dividing up the work
of getting the DCAM document -- or documents -- written?
The wiki page DCAM_Revision is the "home page" for the DCAM revision effort
[1]. I have started a new wiki page as a scratchpad or outline for the revised
DCAM [2] and will populate it with some text (e.g., cut-and-paste from [3]) and
ideas before our call. It seems we are headed towards having two documents --
one for a general readership and one specifically about the RDF mapping. I
suggest we keep everything on one page until we work out how this split will
look in practice.
Our primary sources (also listed at [1]) are: the existing DCAM [3], the
Singapore Framework [4], the existing mapping of DCAM to RDF [5], and (to be
discussed) the Description Set Profile constraint language [6]. We may also
want to consider Mikael's 2008 outline of what he called "DCAM 2.0" [7] and a
2008 wiki page by Karen about application profile design patterns [8] (since we
have decided to flesh out DCAM with examples). Of course, the mailing list [9]
will provide one of the richest sources of ideas...
Unless we start getting complaints about the noise level, I suggest we chat
among ourselves with Cc: to the mailing list (except for housekeeping).
Tom
