Thanks for the information.
Other candidates for social policy contributions may be arguable, but there are blue plaques relating to
'ELEANOR RATHBONE, 1872-1946 Pioneer of Family Allowances'
'SIDNEY WEBB 1859-1947 and BEATRICE WEBB 1858-1943 Social Scientists and Political Reformers'
'ANNIE BESANT 1847-1933 Social Reformer'
'CHARLES BOOTH 1840-1916 PIONEER IN SOCIAL RESEARCH'
'R.H. TAWNEY 1880-1962 Historian, Teacher and Political Writer'
and Karl Marx ...

Subject: Re: Blue Plaque for Richard Titmuss - two more pictures
I think that enough of you will enjoy these extra photos © English
Heritage with Ann Oakley's comments to justify a second email on the
same topic. The first is of the three great-grandchildren who pulled
the cord with Ann 'inconveniently holding the pink car one of them
was playing with' and the second Ann and Howard Glennerster. 'We
are actually kneeling in the bath under the window of what used to be
my father's bedroom!'
Incidentally, I think that this is the first plaque to mark a
specifically social policy contribution. I look forward to being
contradicted by one of you.
Best wishes, Adrian
ps It may take a few moments for the pictures to come through - if
it's not just my computer.
