Ranking as one of the best UK centres of excellence since research league tables began, every graduate student in SSPSSR benefits from a world class research culture, individually tailored supervision teams and research methods training opportunities. In addition to being part of the South East ESRC Doctoral Training Centre, we were in 2011 awarded a prestigious EU erasmus mundus graduate programme. With academic and professional seminar series, workshops, transferrable skills training, Advanced Fieldwork Groups, Advanced Study and Writing Scholarships, a dedicated Graduate School, and with the opportunity to work with dozens of internationally renowned academics, we provide a unique academic environment dedicated to helping our students realise their potential. As a signal of our commitment we will also be offering a number of School and University Scholarships to study with us for a PhD
Applicants for Doctoral Training Centre (DTC) studentships are expected to have an Upper Second or First Class undergraduate degree in a social science or related subject, or a Masters degree.
