Early career Researcher awards
Grants of between £250 and £3,000 for researchers in the early stages of their careers, carrying out academic research in the pursuit of geographical knowledge and understanding. Deadlines for these awards fall in January and February 2012.

Senior Researcher awards
Grants of £8,000 to £12,500 for experienced researchers, carrying out research for the development of geographical knowledge and understanding. The deadline for applications to the Peter Fleming Award, Ralph Brown Expedition Award and Thesiger-Oman Fellowships is 25 November 2011. The £15,000 biennial Gilchrist Fieldwork Award, has an application deadline of 24 February 2012.
