Dear all,
The Edinburgh Beltane - Beacon for Public Engagement is one of the six beacons for public engagement funded by the Research Councils UK, the Funding Councils and the Wellcome Trust. We work in partnership with the four HEI's in Edinburgh and the University of Highlands and Islands with the aim of embedding a culture change in our partners where Public Engagement with Research is supported, encouraged and valued.
In late 2008, and again in 2010 RCUK conducted a short UK-wide baseline surveys about academics' and University staff's opinions of public engagement. The Beacons for Public Engagement are now approaching the end of their programmes and the Edinburgh Beltane are looking to evaluate how the Scottish situation may have changed to provide a context for our final evaluation.
If you work or study at a Scottish University we'd really appreciate your contribution to our Scottish-wide survey. The survey will be open until 30 November.
We understand that completing a similar survey multiple times is not much fun, but we have kept it as brief as possible and it should take no more than 15 minutes of your valuable time.
Here is a link to the survey:

If you are interested in more information about the Edinburgh Beltane, you will be redirected to its website at the end of the survey. For any questions about the survey itself please contact me in the first instance and I will put you in touch with our project evaluator.
Many thanks in advance
Heather
