Hi Jon
In addition to presenting we could also host if need be.
Could use one of our venues in Newcastle as it has air and east coast mainline links.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks, Stephen.
This should certainly be borne in mind, although it's somewhat dependent on who volunteers to host. I assume you're meaning convenient airport location in the main?

Hi all
In terms of location for the User Groups could I request that, as far as possible, the location is accessible from N. Ireland, Scotland etc for those of us travelling long distances?
I know this depends on who is willing to host the group but if there's a choice, like there is for the next meeting, then bear us in mind!
Thanks
Stephen

Howdy All
Many thanks for the (sympathetic) votes of confidence.
I certainly echo Jon's sentiment in wanting to move forward in a positive manner in 2012 and, now that Allocate are no longer helping us, I feel confident that next year will be a good one for us all.
Many thanks, Tracy, for the offer to host the next User Group. I would hope that this would be the "launch" of v3, i.e. at some point during or shortly after Q1 2012.
We've also had other offers to host from around the country, so I'll be in contact with those institutions soon. Many thanks.
Regarding the local/institution-usage user groups that Pam suggested, it would perhaps be interesting to first investigate just how differently we use the system, so perhaps a presentation might be worthwhile to see if the differences are as large as perceived.
With this in mind, please try to have a think about the things that you might like to discuss at future user groups, even if this means presenting things that you think you and/or pFACT does badly. As Colin pointed out yesterday, you can learn a lot from others' mistakes.
However, I'll leave you to get on with your proper jobs now, but look forward to hearing your views on the forum soon.
Jon

Also very happy for Jon to take this on.
I had asked my manager this morning if he was willing for me to put my own name forward and he hadn't been sure. So this handily takes the decision away from him!
Thanks again Jon for this and hosting yesterday.
Kind Regards
Jon
