Hi everyone

Whilst I thought it was good to meet up and find out the current status and future plans from Unit 4 for pFACT, I think that it may be worth considering smaller user groups which are linked together either by location or by their institutions use of pFACT which can interact/feed back with the main user group. It always seems to me that there is quite a range of users, experience, resource dedicated to pFACT etc at the meetings and I feel that it might benefit the newer users or those institutions who for example use pFACT for costing and nothing else to have an opportunity to meet and discuss issues.

Hello Colin et al

I thought it was a very good meeting and as I said on the day UEA is happy to host the next user group meeting if that suits everyone. I am assuming that will be May and I need to work with the chair to set dates ( which of course will be subject to room availability). I would like to propose a weds as the day in May as it is usually easier for us to get decent rooms on that day. Am I to assume approx 40 -50 persons ( possibly less if it's at UEA) Would be happy to combine a two day meeting for PMA and Pfact if that Would help. Norwich is a very nice place for those who have not been.

As Host iI would be happy to do a presentation and IF we have an oracle pfact/pma integration occurring over that period I would be happy for UEA to present on that ( how it is going , set backs etc) If not I am not sure whether a presentation on how UEA use pfact would be useful as I believe we did that recently.

I support the chair proposal- if he has volunteered lets go for it

cheers
Tracy

Subject: pFACT User Group Meeting

Dear All,

Firstly may I thank everyone who attended the meeting yesterday. I hope that you all found it worthwhile and beneficial.

As promised, I have attached UNIT4's and University of Kent's presentations from the day.

The great news is that we already have volunteers for presenting at the next User Group meeting.

University of Sunderland have offered to present on their use of pFACT. Ideally we could do with a few more? :)

I really believe that everyone will benefit from seeing how others use the system.

We also have a volunteer for the Chairperson for the user group. Jonathan Hackney of University College London has offered his services.

I would like to thank Jonathan for kindly hosting yesterdays meeting and Gill for presenting.

We even have a few volunteers for hosting the next meeting, so thank you to everyone who has offered.

I will let the new chairperson of the group know who they are so that they can make contact in the coming months.

I do have a few reminders for the day:

1. Can everyone please let our support desk know if you have any "bespoke" elements of functionality. Although we do have a list from Allocate, it would be good for us make sure we have a comprehensive list.

2. Could everyone please confirm with the support desk which version of the software you are currently using? If anyone is on version 2.02 or lower, please let us know immediately as we will need to plan an upgrade for you as soon as possible for you in order to support you moving forward.

3. Could everyone please arrange for the support quotations to be signed and returned to avoid any confusion when requesting support services.

To confirm a few points of action from us from the day:

1. Gareth will be sending out a features list of functionality within Version 3 in the near future

2. We will be proposing a new enhancement voting procedure in the New Year.

3. Updated user documentation on version 2.03 will be made available to all customers in the near future

I have also attached the documentation on how to use our Support Desk ASK system as I understand that a few of you are yet to use the system. I hope that this is helpful.

You should all have log on details but if not, please contact our support desk [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and they will help get you started.

As mentioned yesterday - thank you all for your support and patience over the last 12 months. We are fully committed to pFACT and its future development. Version 3 will be a major step in the right direction but in the meantime, we are now in a position to fully support version 2.3.

I think that I have covered everything from the day. If I have missed anything, please let me know.

I would suggest the next step is to decide on a Chairperson ??

As I have mentioned, Jonathan has kindly offered and has been seconded by Tim Wilkinson of University of Nottingham but it is your decision to make.

Thanks again

Colin
