For what it’s worth…
We also DO include the PI costs (on the costs-side only), but it forms part of a perennial internal debate each time they have to be submitted.
In the end, we normally decide that there’s no absolutely correct answer, but we do, at least, try to be consistent… …hopefully.

Actually, I think this IS a good use of the pFACT JISCMail list.
Our approach to RT is as follows.
1. We do cost the academic’s time (since this is the person undertaking the research);
2. However their time is not included in the price (since it is ineligible);
3. We calculate the RT cost, and this becomes the income (via income … fee & quantity);
I think your question though is as much about your business approach as much as about how to do it in pfACt.

Hi All,
I too found the user group really useful.
SHU would also like to nominate Jon as chair.
On a different note I have a query regarding costing Leverhulme bids, I know this email isn’t a help desk but just wondered if anyone could spare a minute to let me know how they cost or don’t cost replacement teaching time on Leverhulme bids? We just add a new member of staff called Replacement and cost them that way but I was just wondering how other University’s handled it.
