Subject: OER Funding Opportunities
Please see below for two separate funding opportunities from the HEA:
1. OER Workshop and Seminar Series
In association with JISC, the Higher Education Academy is pleased to invite all subscribing institutions (including HE in FE institutions) in England delivering higher education to be part of an Open Educational Resources workshop and seminar series. Funding has been provided by the Higher Education Funding Council for England to enable us to offer a grant of £500 to institutions to host and deliver a workshop or seminar during the series, and produce an associated report for the sector. In addition, a further £500 will be granted to cover costs of guest speakers.
Through this series, institutions are invited to disseminate findings from project work, research or evaluation, or share evidence-informed policy and/or practice relating to discipline-specific Open Educational Resources.
To be considered to take part in this series, please visit our funding web page at www.heacademy.ac.uk/funding, complete an OER seminar series proposal form and send it as an email attachment to: [log in to unmask] by 2 December 2011.
If you would like to discuss the programme for your workshop or seminar before submitting a proposal, please contact: [log in to unmask]
2. OER Case Studies Series
In association with JISC, the Higher Education Academy is pleased to invite the submission of abstracts for case studies on a range of topics pertaining to Open Educational Resources. Funding has been provided by the Higher Education Funding Council for England to enable us to offer grants of £2,000 for the production of evidence-informed studies on the theme of pedagogical development from OER practice.
In these case studies, individuals or teams from higher education in England are invited to share their experiences of OER practice, situate these within the wider context of OER and offer a model of best practice for the Higher Education sector.
The OER case study series aims to create high quality, publishable, open material to support, inform and guide the HE sector in the creation, use and re-use of Open Educational Resources under the following topics:
o OER and student as producer
o OER and student satisfaction
o OER and staff development
o OER and teaching quality
o OER and distance learning
o OER and public engagement
o Changing the OER culture of your institution
o Barriers to OER
To be considered for funding to contribute to this series, please visit our webpage at www.heacademy.ac.uk/funding, complete an OER case studies proposal form and send it as an email attachment to: [log in to unmask] by 9 December 2011.
If you would like to discuss your study before submitting a proposal, please contact: [log in to unmask]
