I'm with you Sharon, I would ignore it as being childish and
unprofessional, .It probably wont be applicable to this employee, but in
moving forward it is a consideration to look beyond the Med 3, after all
this is the GPs advise to his patient .
Attached is a presentation that you may find useful
Kind regards

personally I would just ignore it - any action on your part would be an
invitation to confrontation, such behaviour (and I find it hard to believe
that a GP would really do this or am I being naive?) is usually about
attention seeking and power games, dont give any fuel to the fire - really,
really irk him by ignoring it......
I had a similar siyuation with a manager recently - he was spoiling for a
fight, so I ignored him and politely acknowldged his emails. Apparently
sent him orbital with frustration but when he came down to earth was quite
amenable as he realised that I wasnt going to be manipulated

This does not sound like professional conduct to me, our jobs are hard enough without having to deal with childish behaoiur like this. I would be
writing a strongly worded letter to the practice manager expressing my concern about the GP's action and "time wasting".

Thank you all for your support, turns out the GP doesnt like our business and knew we would question it causing us to waste our time (he had a
second one prepared and left at the desk apparently) - ho hum, approaching the season to be jolly!

This may seem a silly question so forgive me...
Can a GP write a Med3 for a 6 month period of absence, I had thought that 3 months was the maximum. The certificate has been written for an
individual recovering from a surgical wound debridement on the ankle (post fracture months ago). The individual is happily mobile although
they have a large dressing in place.
Are there any guidelines that the GP have to follow or can they write whatever they want?
Kind Regards
