I suspect it is finance driven coupled with the RCN SOHN having now been
replaced with the public health forum. That in turn is, IMHO, a reflection
of the establishment of the SCPHN register. Jan Maw, the RCN public health
adviser is only employed part time but she is very much an OHN to the core
so there is one point in our favour.
Perhaps the AOHNP could put out feelers to see if they could be involved,
not sure if they would fulfill the criteria for membership of FOHNEU but
they could investigate. The AOHNP is the only body now representing
(exclusively) the interests of OHNs. It is well worth joining and I believe
that there is a special offer for subscription for students on OH courses.
