Agree that it is not part of the FAW course,
But the HSE guidance advises that the First Aid provision is based on
risk assessment and need,
Additional training on top of FAW will be required.

Hi Tracy
This is not part of the First Aid at work course therefore they should
not
be doing this type of dressing. Advice to the first aiders is to ref on
to
occ health if available .

Ruth

Good morning
Please can I have your advise. First aiders are putting on steri strips
in
our factories. I am concerned that a) the wound may not be cleaned
thoroughly. b) the wound may further treatment such as injections /
antibiotics as we work with port prducts. Am I being over cautious or do
you think this is an activity the First Aiders can do - none have been
taught.
