Dear all,
I am working as a member of a project led by Adela Ros of the Open
Univeristy of Catalonia (Barcelona) to undertake a web-based survey of
the use of the Internet by people from Black and minority ethnic groups,
with a particular focus on South Asian and Caribbean people in the UK.
The survey is being undertaken in 8 EU countries and aims to yield
information on how the Internet can aid migrant integration, aiming at
people with family origins outside the EU.
The survey can be found at www.15minutescloser.com - it will take no
more than 15 minutes to complete and 1 in 10 respondents will receive
the reward of 15 minutes free telephone calls. The web page
www.warwick.ac.uk/~errac/connectiem.html describes the project and
contains relevant links. The page www.migranetwork.net also provides
background information. A flyer and explanatory note for BME
organisations is attached to this e-mail.
I am approaching you to ask if you would encourage networks to take the
survey; and publicise to any community groups and minority organisations
you are connected with.
Your help would be very much appreciated.
Best wishes
David Owen
