With a special expertise in media and society you will join our internationally renowned Sociology Department that has recently taken over both MA and BA programmes in Media and Cultural Studies. We are particularly looking for specialist research and teaching expertise in the field of global media but you will be expected to teach in at least one other related field from: media theory, media research methods, political economy of media, media industries, print media.
You will be expected to contribute to all aspects of the work of the Department including academic administration and supervising students at undergraduate, masters and doctoral levels. You should be an excellent researcher with a proven track record of high-quality publications and evidence of engagement with securing external research funding.
This is a fixed-term post for three years in the first instance that is linked to the recruitment from home and overseas students for the BA and MA Media and Cultural Studies.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as for media studies.
