I stumbled across a website earlier tonight that may have some useful historical film clips of interest to local historians.
Predictably there is a lot of material relating to WWII but there are many clips that are a little out of the ordinary and might be very useful (if only for details in the background) - in the first few pages were:
Scene of house number 88, Beaufort street, London, England.
Men's quarters of the Jews' Temporary Shelter in London England
Entire city plays football in an Annual Shrovetide match in Ashbourne, England.
Lord and Lady Vansittart walk through grounds and inside their home in Denham, England.
Gymnasts march and make human pyramid in Shoreham, England.
And, if you recognise the buildings in the background, then "U.S. Army Air Force airmen ride horse-drawn coaches during rest and relaxation activities in England during World War II" could be an absolute gem...
It does cost money to download the clips but if, for example, you need something for an exhibition, the costs may be reasonable.
