Cherry -
"Min. Conch." was the standard abbreviation not of a journal in the
ordinary sense but of James (and J. de C.) Sowerby's serially published
"The mineral conchology of Great Britain...", 1812-46, about which I'm sure
other HOGG people know more than I do.
Could "Rev. Thos. Image" be a parson of that (admittedly unusual) name? If
so, and if he was an Anglican, he would be in the standard reference works
on Oxford and Cambridge alumni (the full details of which I've forgotten).
There's no one of that name in Agassiz or Poggendorff, so if that was his
name he was probably not a published naturalist.
Other HOGGites may be better able to help you.
