German Studies. The Program in German and Scandinavian Studies in the
Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University
of Massachusetts Amherst seeks an Assistant Professor of German
(tenure-track). Post-1700, specializations welcomed in but not
limited to literary studies (especially 18th C and Romanticism);
feminist and gender studies; race, ethnic, and migration studies;
transnational studies; social theory/cultural critique. Teaching load
2/2: Graduate and undergraduate classes in English and German, plus
intermediate and advanced German language instruction. Requirements:
Native or near-native proficiency in English and German; PhD in German
Studies or related field in hand by September 1, 2012. Salary
commensurate with qualifications and experience. Send letter of
