Hello
Interestingly I was demonstrating 'Interviewer' to a lecturer last week who thought it would be brilliant for helping him to 'rehearse' before meetings with his Associate Dean!
We are working with Peter to help develop the on-line version and I have been asking colleagues - including students - to 'have a go' when they come to see me and it has been a unanimous success so far!
Best wishes
Ruth

Subject: Re: Careers education research query
A number of Universities are now using our Interviewer programme which gives students mock job interviews on a pc:
http://www.gowerpublishing.com/isbn/9781409411369
This can be used in a variety of ways to support careers education and advisors. I can visit to demo and talk about its use and development if you are interested.
We are planning to develop an online version for next year and would like to receive any requests/comments. We also think there are some opportunities to develop research projects using this tool as interview performance is seriously under-researched.
We now have a version which focusses on the research viva, developed with Prof Gina Wisker from Brighton. We are delivering a paper on this at the SEDA conference later this week and I can send details if anyone is interested. This version is only available through the University of Bradford.
Best wishes
Peter

I'm involved in many learning related initiatives at the moment linked to both UWE's 'freestanding' Graduate Development Programme and also supporting the development of blended learning employability modules within the curriculum. I would like to get more up to date regarding current research and developments in careers education, especially regarding using blended learning to support employability skills training, and was hoping you might be able to point me in the right direction as to relevant sources. All responses greatly welcomed!
