Hi Jo,
If you don't mind, I wouldn't mind seeing the code, would be interested and much appreciated
Did you mind this data was used, to move anything forward, as evidence and such, or was it just interesting to have?
Many thanks

Subject: Re: Usage stats
I dont have anything to do with stats in my current post.
But at the last place I worked I did lots, I found the best way was to design queries to run against the Blackboard database.
As I was the only one with access I could make sure that it wasn't affecting performance.
Things we did
Both for the whole college and for individual faculties Users, Sessions, hits (dropped hits after a while as it wasn't particularly
useful) grouped by month.
Instructors, Instructor sessions, (hits) by month Number of "active" courses by month and year Users that access particular tabs by month
I also did something about number of courses using different tools which proved quite interesting as it can show adoption rates of different things (ie everyone is adding materials, most are using announcements, a significant number are using assesments and a small amount using wikis and
blogs)
I found it useful to map the % of active courses using a particular tool against Rogers adoption curve - that could then give me an idea of the type of training we should be doing on it.
I have the SQL if people are interested (you WILL need access to the Blackboard database - and having some idea of SQL yourself will help)
Regards
Joseph
