Hello, All!
I'm an American university student studying history, anthropology, and French at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Right now I'm in the process of choosing a topic for my senior thesis project. I'm very interested in colonial history and am considering doing a study on anti-colonial African student organizations in the UK during the 20th century.
I know that this group focuses on the studies of Black and Asian peoples in Britain, but I am curious about the possibility of African students with anti-colonial aims in Ireland. Does anyone know of any anti-colonial African student coalitions that existed in Ireland c. 1900-1965? I would be especially interested to see whether there was any collaboration between Irish and African anti-colonial movements.
If you have any insights as to this topics or other interesting aspects of African student involvement in the UK (1900-1965) please send me an e-mail at [log in to unmask]
Best,
Phoebe Flanigan
