A consultation on the recommendations of the Fundamental Review of Data Returns (FRDR) was launched on 30 August 2011, with a closing date of 22 November 2011. This review covered all national data returns requested by the Department of Health in England and its Arms Length Bodies (ALBs) from NHS organizations, and the public consultation document is available at http://www.dh.gov.uk/health/2011/08/data-consultation-to-cut-nhs-red-tape/.
A consultation workshop on the recommendations of the FRDR, organised by HSUG (Health Statistics User Group), was held on 31st October 2011. The outputs from this consultation workshop, and other supporting material, are now available on the HSUG web site - go to www.hsug.org.uk<http://www.hsug.org.uk/> and follow the link to Consultation on Recommendations of the FRDR.
Comments and queries made at the HSUG workshop will be noted by the consultation team. However, health statistics users are encouraged to make individual responses to the consultation, and it is hoped that the material on the HSUG web site will be of assistance in doing this. These responses should include evidence of the impact of the proposals, such as specific examples of the expected impact on availability of information, and on the activities that depend on this information. Q6 of the Consultation Response form may help to structure such feedback. .
Responses should be sent, by 22 November 2011, using the FRDR Form for Responses, to:
