Dear Robert,
I have just noticed I said P.DLD in a prev. when it should have been the
above. LM was used as an abbreviation of Ltd, and could well mean this in
this case. There are collectors of such things, so an I.net search might prove
useful?
Sorry can't be any more help than this. If you do find out definitively
could you let us know please.
Regards, Bernard

Dear Bernard/Dave,
Very good logic - but its still PDLM. The letters are extremely legible.
Any other ideas?
Robert

Dear Dave,
How very very sensible and astute sir. Powell Dyffryn Limited. (viz.:
P.DLD). This would give an apx. dateline of around roughly 1880 to 1910 or
so -
by Co. definition anyway. It will be interesting to see if we might be
correct. I am sure we will be corrected pdq. if we might not be right!
