Thanks Jenny. I hadn't seen that DPC report.
We are also using Adobe Professional and I've had success in getting conversions from scanned documents and digital e.g. from Word to meet PDF/A-1b as a minimum. Which we are considering will be suitable for HER needs as the main archival copy will go to RCAHMW etc. However, I'm having great trouble embedding metadata into the document which meets the PDF/A-1b verification. I can add custom fields for metadata through Javascript but it doesn't add them to the XMP schema. I've been reading up on creating new XMP schemas etc but its starting to get really complicated now and taking up much more of my time than I have available. We would really like to have the metadata embedded rather than in a separate file, its only a few extra fields that aren't standard in Adobe. Do you have any advice on how to do this easily for batches of PDFs?
The kind of things we are looking to record in addition to the usual are
· Language (document is written in)
· Scan resolution
· Capture Device Type
· Capture Device Manufacturer
· Capture Device Model
· Type of Original
Thanks Charina
